18 were arrested in a wild party at a condominium

Kuala Lumpur: A total of 11 men and seven women were arrested by the police in a wild party raid held at a condominium in Jalan Metro Prima Barat, Kepong here, early this morning.

The 1am raid was carried out as a result of public information and intelligence by a team of officers and members from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division, Sentul District Police Headquarters (IPD).

Sentul District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai said all individuals aged 19 to 42, including the four foreign women, were arrested while having a wild party.

“During the raid, the police found loud music being played and some were drinking liquor.

"The inspection also found a plastic packet containing powder suspected to be mdma type drug weighing approximately 27.50 grams," he said in a statement, today.

He said the initial investigation found that one of the  male suspects was the owner of the condominium unit and admitted to being the organizer of the party.

According to him, the suspect claimed to be promoting a wild party through the Wechat application with a payment rate of RM150 for rent per room for a period of three hours.

"The suspect was found to have started this activity earlier this month.

"Urine screening tests found 12 suspects positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine and ketamine while six other suspects were negative," he said.

He said all the suspects were remanded to assist in the investigation according to Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

He added that all suspects were also compounded with RM4,000 each according to Regulation 17 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2021.
