KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi omitted a very important decision made by the supreme council when he gave his live address after the supreme council meeting on Wednesday (July 7), says Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

The Ketereh MP and Umno division chief said that there would be no changes to the government as the Umno MPs who supported Prime Minister Muhyiddin did so as Barisan Nasional MPs.

"No changes to the government, even if Umno retracts its support for Muhyiddin," said the Federal Territories Minister.

Speaking to the media here Thursday (July 8), Annuar also said that he was informed by Umno supreme council members after the meeting last night that the statement by Ahmad Zahid did not provide the whole picture of the decisions made by the council.

He said that the supreme council made a decision to allow all Umno MPs to vote as they wished during any voting session for any motion in Parliament sittings.

Annuar also questioned the speed of issuing Ahmad Zahid's statement immediately after the supreme council meeting, as it seemed to have been prepared in advance before the meeting took place.

"I followed the happenings at the supreme council meeting closely and the media statement by Ahmad Zahid early this morning.

"I then received calls from the supreme council members who said the statement by the president after the meeting did not provide the whole picture.

"They also told me that it was a pre-prepared statement that he read from, as he went live immediately after the meeting.

"I was informed that he omitted the decision of the supreme council agreeing to allow Umno MPs to support any motion made in Parliament based on their own wisdom," said Annuar.

He was speaking at a media conference after visiting the Grand Seasons Hotel which is now being turned into a transit home called "Rumah Prihatin".

The 300-room four-star hotel, which closed operations two years ago, was offered to the government for free to use for charity by its owner in the capital city's efforts to fight the pandemic
