ALOR SETAR, Nov 28 -- A female police constable sustained minor injuries after she was accidentally shot by a colleague in an incident at the Bukit Kayu Hitam Immigration, Custom, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex police station, today.
Kubang Pasu district police chief Supt Mohd Ismail Ibrahim said the accidental discharge of a weapon occurred at about 1.50 pm when a female police constable, 25, was carrying out inspection and emptying the guns.
“Her coworker also a female constable aged 31, who was about three metres away was accidentally hit in the little toe of her left foot,” he said in a statement here.
He said the victim was rushed to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital here and was reported to be in stable condition.
The case is being investigated under Section 37 of the Arms Act 1960.
