KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians can only move within 10 kilometers (km) of their homes when movement control is in place, whether for food or medicine.

This is stated in terms of the movement under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.

The condition states that if a person moves from one place to another in an area of infection, they need to go to the nearest place of residence whether to buy food, daily necessities, medicine or dietary supplements.

The terms also state that they cannot be joined (accompanied) by others except by reason.

For healthcare and medical services, the movement of the population is also not more than 10 km, closest to its home and not accessible to others except for a reasonable reason.

In carrying out official duties, the Act states that Malaysians must submit a permit from their employer, if required by an authorized officer.

The letter of authorization must also be submitted in the performance of his duties in any necessary service.

Specifying the need for movement to buy food including business operators, the Act states that it must be carried out in advance, take-home or delivery only.
