PETALING JAYA: An apartment's management committee member was attacked after he asked a car owner to remove his vehicle which was blocking others from parking in the visitors' parking bays.
The incident on Nov 2 at an apartment block along Section 6, Kota Damansara led to him being kicked multiple times as he tried to reason with the suspect.
At the time, the committee member was responding to complaints on the residents' WhatsApp chat group and was trying to convince the suspect to move his car.
The suspect, who at the time was armed with a metal rod, refused to do so despite numerous pleas.
He then kicked the committee member multiple times, while also threatening him with the rod.
Petaling Jaya OCPD ACP Mohd Zani Che Din confirmed the case when contacted.
He added that the suspect had been charged on Nov 6 with criminal intimidation and damaging public property in the process of committing mischief.
The incident was caught in its entirety in a 34-minute video that was uploaded on Nov 6 on the apartment block's Facebook page.
