Syed Saddiq requests Khalid Samad, PDRM to take action on DBKL enforcer

KUALA LUMPUR – The rudeness of a man allegedly to be an enforcer from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) of reprimanding and slapping a foreigner has invited various criticism of netizens, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
The incident which went viral through a 58-second video saw a man in red using uncouth words against a foreigner believed to be trading illegally at that area. Unhappy with the reason provided by the elderly foreigner, the man shouted insults against the foreigner, pushed and slapped him.
The elderly man was seen to be collecting boxes which were scattered (believed to be the goods he was selling) around the place while the man spat and continued scolding him.
The ‘DBKL enforcer’ was also seen to be contacting someone through his mobile phone.
In his Tweet, Syed Saddiq said that: “Although he was wrong, we were not taught to slap, kick and spit on the offenders. Malaysia is known for its manners.”
He also requested the Minister of Federal Territories, Khalid Samad, SBKL and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to take action on the incident.
Most of the netizens who have watched the video were angry with the attitude portrayed by the man in red. Some were even in tears and sympathises the elderly foreigner for being treated inhumanely.
“Honestly, I cried after watching this video. How could he treat that man like that? He is poor, does he need to be treated like that? The wealthy are being treated well but a man like him is insulted to its worst. How arrogant!” – a netizen wrote.
Meanwhile another netizen said that the man alleged DBKL enforcer is always seen at the area, pestering traders there and never showed his enforcer identity card.
Claiming that he witnessed the incident, he said that the enforcer then made three calls and said, “Bring the truck here.” – MalaysiaGazette
