KUALA LUMPUR: The graft cases against former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman were ordered to be closed previously, the Sessions Court here was told.

Lead prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram (pic) said the prosecution had a strong case against Musa and that he had been investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for some time now.

"For the strangest reason, the case had been ordered to be closed previously," he told Judge Rozina Ayob on Monday (Nov 5).

Sri Ram also said two or three foreign witnesses will be brought in to testify in the case.

He had allegedly received a total of US$63mil (around RM243mil) in Hong Kong and Singapore as an inducement for offering timber concessions in Sabah.

The offences were allegedly committed between Dec 20, 2004 and Nov 6, 2008.

He has since been released after posting RM2mil bail.

Judge Rozina fixed Dec 13 for case mention and told the MACC to provide necessary documents to the defence team by that date.
