KUALA LUMPUR: "You better pray I don't become President of Umno. First thing I'll do is sack you for having the IQ of a carrot."
Whether this was said in jest or in all seriousness, it was what former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin told Datuk Lokman Noor Adam on Twitter.
This led to others assigning a nickname of "Lobakman" to the Umno Supreme Council member.
It all started with Lokman replying to an old tweet made by Khairy in August, in which the latter was talking about his exchange with Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng about the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Sales and Services Tax (SST).
While Khairy's tweet was posted on Aug 1, it was pinned to the top of his Twitter profile page, and Lokman took to replying to the tweet yesterday.
"With this kind of finger pointing attitude, don't ever dream that you can ever become the President of Umno," Lokman said.
This was when Khairy regarded the Pemantau Malaysia Baharu president as having the "IQ of a carrot".
Khairy's acid reply made at 12.49pm today is fast gaining popularity on the micro-blogging site, having already garnered close to 1,000 Retweets.
This appears to be the first time Khairy and Lokman are arguing in public, starting from the former stating that Barisan Nasional (BN) had lost the 14th General Election (GE14) because of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Khairy said that in response to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak lamenting that BN lost due to fraud and defamation, among others.
Later on, Lokman claimed Najib could have engineered a unity government on May 9 if it was not for Khairy who had gone to the former Umno president's house, demanding for his resignation that night. © New Straits Times Press
