KUALA LUMPUR: Fugitive financier Low Taek Jho is still attempting to seek for immunity from the Malaysian government.
Council of Eminent Persons chairman Tun Daim Zainuddin claimed that Low was still trying to get in touch with him via his officer, with the most recent call made last week.
"He asked to meet the prime minister, to meet me, hoping he can influence us," Daim told Astro Awani in an interview today.
Daim said Low or Jho Low as he is more commonly known as was asking for 'many things' (macam-macam).
The former Finance Minister said he had previously 'tested' the fugitive businessman who is wanted for investigation into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
"I tested him, I asked for two things, give a name and come back," Daim said, adding that Low went quiet at these two demands.
"I told him 'you cannot deliver why should i talk to you'." © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
