Azmin enjoys clear win in Kuala Selangor PKR polls

KLANG: The Kuala Selangor PKR division party polls went on without any untoward incidents this time around.
More than 1,000 members turned-up to e-vote their leaders of choice to helm the party for the next three years.
Incumbent party deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali retained his position with 982 votes against his contender and nemesis Rafizi Ramli’s 389 votes.
Apart from Permatang Pauh MP and Rafizi ally Nurul Izzah Anwar, who came second with 673 votes, the remaining three elected vice president’s positions all went to Azmin loyalists.
Bukit Melawati assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli clinched the division chief’s position with 428 votes in a tough six-cornered fight.
The division’s original polling day on Oct 28 was had been marred with alleged sabotage when a device believed to be a jammer was found hidden among the seats at the Kuala Selangor open stadium where the polling was held.
