DJ charged with drunk driving

KUALA LUMPUR: A nightclub DJ who was seen in a video ranting about the police has been charged at a magistrate's court here for driving under the influence.

Ooi Kok Wei, 31, was accused of having 84mg of alcohol content in 100ml blood, which is 4mg more than the permissible content.
He is accused of committing the offence at Jalan Sungai Besi at about 3.45am on May 6.
Ooi was charged under Section 45A(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
He faces a fine of between RM1,000 and RM6,000 or a maximum 12 months' imprisonment.
He pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Maizatul Munirah Abd Rahman set bail at RM2,000.
Insp Hashimah Hashim prosecuted and lawyer Mohamed Nizam Mohamed Fazil represented the accused.
The case is set for mention on June 15.
