ALOR SETAR: A 28-year-old Malaysian man was gunned down near a hotel in Hatyai, Thailand early Monday.
Mohd Nizam Ahmad Basrah, 28, from Penang was riding a motorcycle to the hotel when he was shot at about 3.30am.
Hatyai deputy police chief Col. Khittichai Sankha-thavorn said Mohd Nizam was found in a pool of blood on Phadungpakdee Road with wounds in his chest and buttock.
"Police found two bullet casings near the scene. We are going through the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to help in the investigations," he said.
Nizam's body was sent to the Hatyai Hospital for post-mortem.
