Eden Hazard's 83rd minute strike was greeted with an explosion of cheers and spilled pints in the midlands and most likely across the country as neutrals also basked in Leicester's fairytale.
Prior to kick-off at Stamford Bridge Claudio Ranieri's players arrived two-by-two to Vardy's home in Melton Mowbray and were met by fans who stood in the rain cheering outside the England striker's house.

The atmosphere must have been glum at half-time, as goals from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min looked set to leave Leicester needing to beat Everton at the King Power stadium on Saturday to prevent the title race doing down to the last day of the season.
But the Foxes began to hope when Gary Cahill pulled one back for last year's champions before Eden Hazard ensured that his wish for Leicester to win the title came true at the expense of rivals Spurs.

The whole country seemed to take to social media to congratulate the new English champions, including Prime Minister David Cameron and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Cameron posted on Twitter: 'Many congratulations to Leicester. An extraordinary, thoroughly deserved, Premier League title.'
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany also got in on the act, writing on Twitter: 'Congratulations to the new Champions of England, Leicester City. Respect.'
Spurs players and fans were also quick to congratulate Leicester, with Harry Kane recovering from upset to show his class and pop superstar Adele championing the Foxes.
Kane posted on Twitter: 'I'm so proud of this team and club. We put it all on the line but unfortunately it just wasn't enough. We learn and come back stronger!

Spurs fan Adele posted to her 26million followers: 'Proud of you Spurs! But Leicester... What an inspiration, the best f*****g story ever! Congratulations!!!! X'.
Despite Kane being graceful in defeat, Vardy couldn't resist hitting back at an Instagram post from the Spurs striker earlier in the season, which show lions on a hunt as his side chased the Foxes.
Vardy posted a picture from Disney's the Lion King showing king Mufasa falling to his death.
There was a sense of anticipation when Fuchs and Robert Huth arrived at Vardy's house with fans already gathering outside the strikers home.
Wes Morgan, Danny Drinkwater, Jeff Schlupp and the rest of the Foxes gang showed up in twos to the party.
Businesses across Leicester went the extra mile for the evening, with Bru Coffee Shop in the city serving coffee with Vardy's face sieved onto it in powdered chocolate.
Punters could buy the 'Vardiccino', or alternatively pick up a 'Vardy Bomb' at various bars across the city.
