SEPANG: Two men who tried to rob the house of two teachers at Taman Indah KLIA ended up being shot dead.
The suspects, who were spotted attempting to break into the house at about 4am yesterday, were shot dead by the police after a brief chase.
Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Ali said a team comprising personnel from the Bukit Aman and Sepang Criminal Investigation Departments was patrolling the neighbourhood when they saw three men trespassing the backyard of the house.
“The team shouted ‘Polis’ at the suspects, causing them to flee to nearby bushes.
“The police chased after the three suspects,” he said.
ACP Aziz said one of the suspects fired a few shots at the police during the chase.
“The team returned fire in defence and stopped firing after the shootout had subsided.
“Two suspects were killed, while one managed to escape,” ACP Aziz added.
According to him, the deceased are believed to be foreigners as they had no BCG marks.
No identification documents were found on them either.
The suspects, believed to be criminally active for two years, were armed with a Smith & Wesson revolver and parang.
Police found gloves and housebreaking tools inside two bags recovered from the suspects.
The teachers and their son were not harmed due to the speedy intervention by the police.
