Actor Tony Eusoff in Singapore court over drug possession charge

PETALING JAYA: Actor Tony Eusoff (pic) was brought before a court in Singapore on Thursday after he was alleged to have been in possession of drugs.
A Singaporean news portal on Friday reported that the actor, whose real name is Anthony Joseph Anak Hermas Rajiman, 38, was charged with the possession of Class A drugs under the island nation's Drug Abuse Act.
The portal also reported that Tony is believed to have owned a packet containing no less than 4.56 grams of vegetable substance that was analysed and found to contain traces of ganja.
He was charged with possession of the drugs at the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) bus arrival hall at the Tuas checkpoint on March 12.
The Sarawakian-born actor was said to be in Singapore to film an upcoming drama.
Previously, Tony had played the lead character, Tan Sri P. Ramlee, in P. Ramlee The Musical, staged at the Istana Budaya.
He had also gone on to play the artist in the two-part biopic Saloma: Mencari Guruh and Saloma: Pandang Kaseh.
If found guilty, Tony could be jailed up to 10 years, and fined as much as S$20,000 (RM57,775) or both.
The case will be rementioned at the National Court in Singapore on April 12.
