Negri Sembilan prince Tunku Alif laid to rest

KUALA PILAH: Tunku Alif Hussein Saifuddin Al-Amin, the youngest son of the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, who died Friday was laid to rest at the Seri Menanti Royal Mausoleum this evening.
He was laid to rest beside his grandmother Tunku Ampuan Durah Tunku Besar Burhanuddin's grave.
The talqin (reading of the last rites) was read by Seri Menanti Royal Mosque Imam Ustaz Abdul Rahman Ibrahim.
The Armed Forces hearse carrying Tunku Alif’s remains was seen leaving the Istana Besar Seri Menanti at 5.35pm and arrived at the mausoleum at 5.35pm for the private funeral attended only by close members of the royal family.
The funeral on a rainy Friday afternoon also included a seven-gun salute.
Tunku Alif Hussein's final ride was also accompanied by Tuanku Muhriz and Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud.
Tuanku Muhriz and Tuanku Aishah Rohani, together with their two other sons Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin and Tunku Zain Al-'Abidin, also poured scented water and scattered flower petals on the grave of Tunku Alif Hussein.
Also present were Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and his wife Raja Datin Seri Salbiah Tengku Nujumuddin and state executive councillors.
Tahlil prayers and Yasin recital for Tunku Alif were also held at the Istana Besar Seri Menanti Friday night.
Tunku Alif passed away at 11.55am at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz in Kuala Lumpur.
He was born on Sept 3, 1984, and was the third child of Tuanku Muhriz and Tuanku Aishah Rohani. - Bernama
