Woman apologises for 'nasi kandar' FB allegation
IPOH: The woman who accused a nasi kandar stall here of putting faeces in its food preparation has made a public apology.
Ze Aida, 24, acknowledged that she should not have made such baseless allegations which she posted on Facebook.
“I hope my clarification will put an end to rumours,” she told a press conference.
Ze Aida said she made the posting based on talk that she heard from friends.
“But now I realise I have made a mistake,” she said.
Ze Aida also said she had lodged a report at the Sungai Senam police station after finding out that her posting was screen-captured and widely circulated in the last few days.
“I hope everyone will stop worsening the situation and tarnishing the reputation of the business,” she said.
The Kinta Health Department subsequently conducted a raid on Thursday at another nasi kandar stall – Yong Suan coffeeshop in Jalan Yang Kalsom – and issued a notice to the stall owner to cease operations from yesterday until Nov 28.
The order was issued under Section 11 of the Food Act for unhygienic premises.
On Friday, the nasi kandar stall manager at Yong Suan, Mohd Nihmathullah Syed Mustaffa, called for a press conference to explain that the closure had nothing to do with the allegations about nasi ganja.
When contacted yesterday about Ze Aida’s apology, Mohd Nihmathullah said he hoped she could be more responsible in her Facebook postings.
He said he would discuss with his business partners on whether to take legal action against her.
The closure of the shop, he said, was merely due to hygiene issues and not linked to the allegations.
“We have already cleaned up the premises as instructed by the authorities. We look forward to resuming our business soon,” he said.
