She was rushed to a hospital by her frantic father Arifin Deraman after she fainted and fell from her chair in the examination hall on Wednesday.
The SMK Tok Janggut school teacher said he had driven his daughter to Tengku Anis Hospital upon being told that she had fainted, only for her to be pronounced dead on arrival at 9am.
Arifin, 48, said his daughter had complained of headache, backache and chest pains about two weeks ago but was diagnosed with possible gastric complications when he brought her to a clinic.
“Two days before the examination started, she had seemed normal. She was in a happy mood this morning before sitting for the paper.
“She had been one of the students in her school expected to score 10A’s but it’s fate that she’s gone now,” he said, adding that Nur Syazwani was the fourth child out of six siblings.
Confirming the incident, district police chief Deputy Supt Mohd Kamal Zainal said police were waiting for a post-mortem report from Universiti Sains Hospital in Kubang Kerian, Kota Baru, adding that Nur Syazwani had no history of chronic diseases.
