Browning Pistol Found in Shah Alam Stadium During Malaysia Cup Final

SHAH ALAM: Police found a loaded Browning pistol with seven bullets hidden in one of the toilets at the Shah Alam stadium during the Malaysia Cup finals match between Pahang and Kelantan last night.

Shah Alam police deputy chief Superintendant Rusland Abdullah said they were trying to trace the owner.
"We can't reveal anymore information as we are still investigating but we are pleased that there were no unwarranted incidence such as violence during and after the match.
"This is mainly due to the fact that we have 110 officials and 1,482 policemen on duty to maintain the peace throughout the day and night," he said.
Ruslan added that 86 individuals were arrested for trying to enter the stadium with fake tickets. However all of them were released under police bail.
"We arrested another five men for a number of offences such as smuggling banned items such as flares and fireworks into the stadium and lighting them up during the match.
"Their irresponsible action posed risk and danger to the spectators, including the children who were there. We regard the action as completely unacceptable.
"All the suspects arrested were brought to our headquarters to have their statement recorded to assist with our investigations," he said.
On the case of two children separated from their guardian during the match, Ruslan said that they were found the same night and have been handed to their respective guardians.
