9 Day Old Boy Taken On Mercy Flight By Royal Malaysian Navy From Manjung To KL

LUMUT: A nine-day-old baby boy was taken on a mercy flight, courtesy of the Royal Malaysian Navy, for immediate examination and treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur today.





The baby, accompanied by his mother, Kokilah Nandarajah, 17, and Dr Lai Chee Seng,  was brought by ambulance from the Manjung Hospital to the naval base here.

The baby was flown in a Super Lynx RMN helicopter from the helipad at the naval base to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital's playground. He was then taken by ambulance to the IJN. 
As a safety precaution, the baby was transported in an incubator.
 
The Super Lynx helicopter, piloted by Commander Jason Solomon John, assisted by Lieutenant Commander Syed Muhammad Shafiq Syed Husin and air quartermaster Petty Officer Helmy Mohd Ramli, took off at 4pm and landed at Kuala Lumpur at 4.30pm.
