The country has successfully broken the 'wall of uncertainty' when it recorded economic growth of 5.8 percent in the second quarter of 2024.

According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the amazing growth is an extraordinary figure, beyond the projections presented by all parties.

"In the Civil Economy we promise better job opportunities, better training, better technology transfer and towards digital and towards workforce transition.


"With all humility, I say a million thanks to the people.

"Infinite appreciation also goes to the employees whether in the government or the private sector, thanks to the professionals and thanks to the investors who continue to believe in the direction of the MADANI Economy," he said in a statement today.

On Friday, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) announced that the Malaysian economy is projected to grow 5.8 percent in the second quarter of 2024, up from 4.2 percent in the previous quarter and is the highest growth since the fourth quarter of 2022 which recorded 7.4 percent, according to

DOSM said, for the first half of 2024, GDP increased 5.0 percent compared to 4.1 percent in the same period the previous year.

Commenting further, Anwar said that the success gave an opportunity to rise as a brave nation.

"I am confident that with our cooperation and focus on economic development, we will succeed," he said.
