IPOH: Initial police investigations found that the petrol bomb that was thrown at a KK Mart convenience store in Jalan Bruseh, near Bidor was believed to have been carried out by a man who got into a car early yesterday morning.

Perak Police Chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said a review of the store's closed-circuit camera (CCTV) footage found that a dark-colored car with a red 'Lalamove' sticker had stopped on the side of the road at about 5.35am.

"A man (suspect) got out of the car and threw something believed to be a glass bottle containing kerosene into the shop, then continued to leave the scene," he said in a statement here yesterday.

Earlier, Mohd Yusri reportedly said the incident was noticed by the staff of the convenience store involved and the police received a report from the complainant who is also a local woman, regarding the incident at 8.49am.

The 20-year-old complainant while at work informed, heard the sound of a bottle breaking in front of the premises and immediately went out to check the situation.

There were broken glass and explosives resembling firecrackers on the floor of the shop and the complainant also smelled a kerosene-like smell from broken glass.
