 Police arrested a local husband and wife on suspicion of supplying firearms to an Israeli man who was detained at a hotel on Jalan Ampang, here.


The couple, aged 42 and 40, was detained by a squad from  the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ), at a Ramadan bazaar in Kuala Selangor, at 7.15 last night.


After being detained, police took the suspects to their residence, also in Kuala Selangor, before finding a gun in a backpack in their Honda Jazz car.


According to sources, the male suspect is believed to be responsible for providing six pistols to Israeli male citizens who entered the country using French passports.


It is understood the couple will be detained today for further investigation.


Police also arrested a local man in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, who  is believed to be the driver  to the  Israeli man since he entered the country on March 12.


At this time the police are still carrying out investigations to identify the main motive of  Israeli man entering this country and  having six pistols and 200 bullets.


Last night, the IGP, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, at a media conference revealed the detention of a 36-year-old Israeli suspect at a hotel on Jalan Ampang, last Wednesday.


He reportedly said, after questioning, the suspect claimed he came to this country to look for an individual who was also a citizen of his country to kill, allegedly over family issues, but the police did not believe the suspect.
