Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) through the Enforcement Department immediately closed down an entertainment center in an operation in the capital.
The operation in collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) and the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (WPKL) was conducted at two premises, namely Jalan Sungai Besi and Jalan Metro Pudu.
DBKL in a statement informed that, through this Special Action on Risky Premises (Clubs/Entertainment Premises) Series 1/2024, the premises are subject to action under Section 17, Entertainment Act 1992.
This includes opening an investigation paper (IP) under Section 4(1)(b) for opening an entertainment venue without a license and a notice of Rule 19 - No entertainment other than that specified in the entertainment license under the Entertainment Rules (WPKL) 1993.
"As a result of the joint raid and inspection with JKDM and JIM at the two premises of the entertainment club, DBKL imposed a sealed action immediately.
"DBKL also seized 19 different pieces of equipment from the two entertainment premises in question, including Pioneer DJ mixers, microphone receivers, microphones, speakers, chairs, compartment tables and other equipment.
"All musical equipment has been sent to DBKL's Setor Sitaan, Jalan Lombong, Taman Miharja Kuala Lumpur for documentation and temporary storage before further action against the owner of the premises," said the statement.
DBKL in the same statement also informed that this enforcement action will continue from time to time according to a series of actions in the Parliamentary area in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
