SHAH ALAM: Syarikat Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua (Perodua) Sales Sdn Bhd agreed to buy back at full price a damaged Bezza type car within eight hours even though it was newly purchased.
The owner of the vehicle, Nagakanni Subramaniam said, the company also offered him to buy a second car with the same loan rate or reject the offer and buy another.
"I have to make this decision within seven days. I also no longer have to pay months for the old car and all previous payments will be returned.
"Thank you Perodua for this decision and everyone who helped me claim this right. I am indebted to you.
"The struggle to claim rights from a giant company is not an easy thing for me who is only a clerk but I learned something.
"Even if we are as small as ants, if we unite regardless of color and race, we will succeed. In the end, because of sugar, ants unite," he said in a post on Facebook on Friday.
Previously, Nagakanni expressed his disappointment when he bought the car on October 17 and there was no solution with the company apart from having to pay monthly installments of RM537 even though it was still broken.
On Wednesday, Perodua's Chief Operating Officer, JH Rozman Jaafar said, the company has taken several steps including offering temporary cars to the customers to use and the option to buy back the units.
However, on Thursday, Nagakanni claimed there were several factual errors in the company's counter statement. -
