IPOH: A police officer's wife was brought before the Ipoh Magistrate's Court on Thursday on charges of stealing two threads of her husband's luxury Rolex watch three years ago.

The accused, Datuk Mou Ei Leen @ Eileen Mou, 41, is alleged to have committed the act at a house in Pinggiran Rapat Ria, Ipoh in January 2021.

According to the charge, she was charged with theft in a building used as a storage place for property, namely a Rolex Sky Dweller watch (Model 326135) serial number 0890R359 and a Rolex GMT Master-II 9 watch (Model 116718 LN) serial number A9R56702.

The estimated price for the Rolex Sky Dweller is RM207,000 while the Rolex GMT Master-II 9 is RM198,000.

The accused is charged according to Section 380 of the Penal Code which can be punished with imprisonment of up to 10 years and can be fined.

However, Ei Leen pleaded not guilty after the charges were read before Magistrate Siti Nora Sharif.
The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor, Noor Nabilah Norzam while the accused was represented by lawyer Gurbachan Singh.

Earlier, Noor Nabilah proposed bail amounting to RM7,000, however Gurbachan asked for a minimum bail amount to be given on the grounds that her client is a housewife and takes care of two children who are still in school.

The court then allowed bail to be given in the amount of RM3,000 with one surety and next November 22 was set for the re-mention of the case
