Female participant of Ironman Langkawi Malaysia, who was rescued after almost drowning is in critical condition

 Langkawi: The female participant of the triathlon, Ironman Langkawi Malaysia, who was rescued after almost drowning this morning, is in a critical condition at the Sultanah Maliha Hospital (HSM) here.


The victim was identified as Muhaini Mahmud from Kuala Lumpur, based on a post on her niece Nafisah Hani's Facebook account around 8 tonight.


Through the message, Nafisah appealed to her friends to pray for Muhaini who is currently in a critical condition at HSM's Intensive Care Unit (ICU).


At the same time, a check on Muhaini's social media accounts revealed that she is the co-founder of Kiddocaremy and former Director of Corporate Affairs at Weststar Group.


Earlier today, Langkawi District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari said that three Ironman Langkawi participants involving two men and one woman faced health difficulties while taking part in the swimming discipline at Pantai Kok.


He is reported to have said that one female participant was rushed to HSM, while one male participant and spectator who were tired and slightly injured received treatment at the tournament location.
