KUALA LUMPUR: The special officer for Indian affairs at the Deputy Prime Minister's Office, Ramesh Rao, reportedly passed away early this morning.
The matter was confirmed by one of the Deputy Prime Minister's special officers.
It is believed that the leader suffered a heart attack, however, it is not certain what illness the leader suffered from.
The President of Pertubuhan Minda dan Sosial Prihatin (PMSP) was previously appointed Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to be given the responsibility of looking after the welfare of the Indian community throughout the country regardless of their political beliefs.
Before joining Barisan Nasional (BN), the deceased had been active in politics with DAP.
The deceased is well known for actively fighting for the welfare of the community in this country, especially the Indians
