PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today chaired his first Special Cabinet Meeting since being sworn in as the 10th Prime Minister on November 24.

The special meeting scheduled for 10 am was also attended by all 27 Cabinet ministers of the Unity Government at Bangunan Perdana Putra, here.

The Prime Minister was seen arriving around 8.06am.

Also seen entering the Perdana Putra Building were the Deputy Prime Minister, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Plantation & Commodities, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

Previously, the Prime Minister said the special meeting would involve setting new rules.

Among the rules are related to how to manage the ministry, how to support and cooperate with civil servants, determining how members of the Cabinet of Ministers can make policy-related announcements, as well as how to spend so as not to exceed the appropriate amount.

In addition, the special meeting is expected to focus specifically on the issue of dealing with the rising cost of living that is currently burdening the people and related to subsidies.

At a press conference after a special meeting of the National Livelihood Action Council 2022 on November 27, the Prime Minister announced that he would give ministries and government agencies two weeks to detail various issues related to people's subsidies.
