KUALA LUMPUR: National Rehabilitation Council chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman received a COVID-19 booster dose injection at the Axiata Arena vaccination center (PPV), the capital on Saturday.
Muhyiddin, who became the first recipient of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine in the country through the National COVID-19 Immunization Program (PICK) on February 24, voluntarily came forward to get a booster dose injection

"According to the report I read, it's good to get two doses, after a few months of age there may be a decrease in body resistance. So when there is this third injection, it rebuilds the body's resistance," he said when injected with a booster dose at PPV Axiata Arena, on Saturday
Muhyiddin, 74, who is also the former Prime Minister, also explained that the process at PPV was running smoothly and he did not experience any immediate effect.
According to him, he voluntarily made an appointment through the MySejahtera application a few days ago to get a booster injection.
Muhyiddin also reminded the public to continue to adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) even though most states are currently in Phase Three and Phase Four of the National Rehabilitation Plan
The booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine was first given to the first group of recipients free of charge and voluntarily.
Earlier, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, when announcing the matter, said that the vaccination from October 13 would involve senior citizens aged 60 and above and frontline members receiving the full dose at least six months ago.
