Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur has achieved herd immunity when the Covid-19 vaccination of the adult population reached 85%

 


Kuala Lumpur: The Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur managed to achieve herd immunity today when the Covid-19 vaccination of the adult population reached 85 percent, said Federal Territory Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

"Alhamdulillah, today Kuala Lumpur managed to achieve 85 percent vaccination for the adult population. Pray for the situation in our region to improve," he said in a post on his Twitter account today.

In the same message, Annuar also expressed his commitment to continue helping the people.

His submission also displayed the statistics of vaccination in the Federal Territory until Saturday, August 14 which was implemented in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

In Kuala Lumpur, as of Saturday, 1.5 million people or 85 percent have completed two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

This number surpassed the set target of 80 percent or 1.48 million population.

As many as 2.5 million people or 144 percent of Kuala Lumpur's population have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, he said.

Annuar said in Putrajaya, the number of people who had completed two doses of Covid-19 vaccine was 81,543 individuals or 74 per cent compared to the set target of 88,000 people or 80 per cent.

The total population who have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Putrajaya is 120,984 people or 110 percent.

Meanwhile in Labuan, 92 percent or 63,440 residents have completed two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
