A total of 114 MPs will be called to Istana Negara, said Umno secretary -general Ahmad Maslan.

He said this meant that Bera Member of Parliament, Ismail Sabri Yaakob had enough support to become prime minister.

"Only the winning group is invited for confirmation of support once again at Istana Negara. It means Ismail Sabri with God's permission is the winning PM candidate.

"This is of course also thanks to the joint unity led by the President (Ahmad Zahid Hamidi), deputy president (Mohamad Hasan) and Najib Abdul Razak (Pekan MP), members of the supreme council and all our members of parliament," he said in a text message today.

He added that BN MPs will leave by bus to Istana Negara at 10 am tomorrow from the Putra World Trade Center, (PWTC) Kuala Lumpur.

Five sessions before him

When contacted, Ahmad Maslan confirmed that the BN MP was invited to appear before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong tomorrow.

Padang Rengas Member of Parliament Nazri Aziz also confirmed the matter.

Meanwhile, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said that PAS MPs were scheduled to appear before His Majesty at 4pm.

"Alhamdulillah DSIS (Ismail Sabri) has been successfully appointed as the 9th PM based on the invitation of Istana Negara to all MPs who nominated him," he told Malaysiakini.

Earlier, a source from BN said the MPs were scheduled to face the YDP Agong in five sessions.

"The 10am session involves 24 MPs from Sabah and Sarawak. Followed by the second session at 11.10am scheduled for Bersatu MPs. Meanwhile, Umno and BN MPs will face the Agong in the third and fourth sessions at 2pm and 3pm respectively.

"PAS will face at 4 pm," said the source again.

On Monday, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Azhar Azizan Harun through a notice dated Aug 17 asked 220 Dewan Rakyat members to submit a sworn affidavit to nominate a prime ministerial candidate.

The notice is to enable one of those with majority confidence to be appointed as prime minister following the resignation of Muhyiddin Yassin who is also the Member of Parliament for Pagoh last Monday
