KUALA LUMPUR: A man was shot four times while driving in Bukit Rahman Putra, Sungai Buloh, this afternoon.
In the incident around 1.30pm, the victim was identified as Sri Tharam Thanimalai, 42, was driving a red Range Rover at Jalan BRP 2/1, Bukit Rahman Putra.
Sungai Buloh District Police Chief, Superintendent Shafa'aton Abu Bakar, said the initial investigation at the scene confirmed that the victim was shot with four shots.
"The victim was then rushed to the Sungai Buloh Hospital, for treatment before being pronounced dead at 2.15pm
"People who have information about the incident can contact the police at 03-61561222," he said.
The suspect is believed to have fired shots at the driver's window and the red windscreen of the vehicle.
Police inspection at the scene also found bullet casings used as well as white gloves believed to be used by the suspect.
Police are currently tracking down a suspect involved in the shooting.
Head of the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department, Senior Assistant Commissioner Nik Ezanee Mohd. Faisal when contacted confirmed the incident.
However, he said, the identity of the perpetrator could not be identified and an investigation was underway.
