43 artists 'live' 24 hours
KUALA LUMPUR: Sit at home, be entertained and do charity. Based on that objective, Media Prima Audio (MPA) together with the Media Prima Group platform gathered 43 artists who will perform from home at the COVAiD #BaikSemula Charity Program.
This charitable initiative aims to appreciate and help front-line heroes who risked their lives to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, since last year.
This historical event, will adhere to the new norms, including strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
It will be broadcast 24 hours through Hot FM and Hot TV's YouTube accounts on September 4, starting at 12 midnight.
MPA Chief Executive Officer, Nazri Noran, said the COVAiD #BaikSemula Charity Program provided a platform for art activists to perform virtually in the pandemic era .
"According to the initial plan, we want to hold this program openly. However, because we have strict SOPs following the increase in daily cases of COVID-19 infection, we had to take this initiative online
“We see this program as important as a platform for performing arts activists and we need artists to drive the music industry.
"So, this is our initiative with the local music industry. Now is the right time for us to spend time together on the country's Independence Month," he said at a virtual Chillax session with Hot FM presenters Haziq Hussni and Riena Diana as well as a line -up of major artists. Not to be missed, Yonnyboii, Bunkface, SonaOne, Masdo, Ara Johari, Sufian Suhaimi, Nabila Razali, Ernie Zakri, Syamel, Kmy Kmo and Luca Sickta.
Also participating are Zynakal, Tuju, Alif Satar & The Locos, Adrian, Adly, Erulxnaufa, Kael, Evie, Apex, Pasya Mentor, Sissy Iman and Marsha Milan.
Nazri said, due to the limited performance period, MPA needs to limit the number of artists who will perform in the program.
“Many singers want to participate and if followed, we want to extend the duration of the performance to 48 hours after the positive feedback from the artists.
“However, due to time constraints, we cannot do that,” he said.
Nazri said, if the COVAiD #BaikSemula Charity Program achieves its goal, MPA is considering organizing it again by inviting artists who could not be together this time. "God willing, this program is not the last and we may organize it every year.
"Once the situation has improved, we will organize a music festival with the participation of the audience. For now, we want to make this event a success as an entertainment and charity program," he said.
Detailing the COVAiD #BaikSemula Charity Program, Nazri said the event was an MPA initiative together with the Media Prima Group platform to raise funds to fill the Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian Fund.
He added that the program led by Hot FM together with Buletin FM, Fly FM, 8 FM and Media Prima Berhad (MPB) platform aims to appreciate the contribution of frontline workers in curbing the spread of COVID-19.
"As reported by the media, frontline personnel have been working hard for more than a year for Malaysians.
“So, on your behalf, we want to thank the frontline personnel who sacrificed a lot in dealing with COVID-19.
"What they have done makes us and the country very proud. This is a time when we show our gratitude and continue to support them.
"I urge Malaysians to channel their sincere contributions so that we can help frontline personnel and individuals affected by the COVID-19 outbreak," he said.
People who want to donate can do so through online banking or make a deposit to the Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian Fund through Maybank account number 5141-0532-3170.
After donating, the public can send a transaction slip by stating COVAiD in an email to communications@mediaprima.com.my to obtain an official receipt.
Each donation will be used to purchase medical equipment, food and daily necessities that will be distributed to individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
