Over 95% Asymptomatic! Malaysia's Covid-19 New Cases - 14,516 Breakdown According to Category




Over 95 percent of Covid-19 infections involve asymptomatic cases

A total of 7,216 or 95.6 per cent of the 14,516 new Covid-19 cases today involved category one or asymptomatic patients.

Director -General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah informed that a total of 7,045 cases involved category two followed by category three (83 cases), category four (77 cases) and category five (95 cases).

“Some of them remained in the same category throughout the period of infection but some changed their health status either improved or declined to a higher category.

"However, a total of 1.8 per cent of cases reported today are in categories three to five while 98.2 per cent are in categories one and two," he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham said a total of 207 deaths today were the highest in the country since the pandemic spread.

Today's deaths involved 57 cases in Selangor followed by Kuala Lumpur (52), Johor (24), Kedah (19), Melaka (18), Negeri Sembilan (14), Pahang (seven) Sabah (six), Perak (five), Penang (three) and Terengganu (two).
