Tan Sri Muhyiddin Visits Melaka’s Popular Pahlawan Walk (1 Video)

MELAKA, Sept 14 -- Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today took time off to mingle with visitors and traders of Pahlawan Walk in Banda Hilir here.

The Prime Minister went to the famous bazaar after chairing a National Economic Action Council (MTEN) meeting at a hotel nearby.

The marketplace is popular among local and foreign visitors for traditional Melaka handicraft, souvenirs and food.

Muhyiddin who was accompanied by Melaka Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali was seen purchasing dodol from a stall and had lunch with asam pedas, a renown Melaka dish.

Earlier, Muhyiddin chaired the MTEN meeting which was also attended by Senior Minister cum International Trade and Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and Finance Minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

This is Muhyiddin’s first visit to Melaka after becoming prime minister on March 1.

In this regard, a visitor from Kuantan, Robiah Ismail was pleasantly surprised to meet the prime minister when browsing at Pahlawan Walk with her family.

"The Prime Minister is very friendly, and is close to the people,” she said.

Stall-keeper Che Amirul Ashraf Che Mohd Azmi, 19, when met after the prime minister bought durian and original flavour dodol from him, said,” I am very lucky today to receive a VVIP customer”.
