The Health Ministry announced 1,853 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 68,079.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 50 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 3,359.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 31,585.
The capital city recorded 357 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 13,211. Meanwhile, East Java reported 366 new cases, Central Java 366, South Sulawesi 166, North Sumatra 156, and South Kalimantan 123.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
