PETALING JAYA: The Shah Alam High Court has overturned Rafizi Ramli’s conviction for exposing confidential banking details relating to the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC), reported Bernama.

In February last year, the former Pandan MP was sentenced by the Sessions Court to 30 months in jail after being found guilty by the court.

Rafizi was charged with having access to four customer profile documents pertaining to the balance summaries of NFCorp, National Meat and Livestock Sdn Bhd, Agroscience Industries Sdn Bhd and NFCorp executive chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Salleh Ismail.

He was accused of exposing said documents to a media consultant and journalist at the PKR headquarters at Merchant Square, Jalan Tropicana Selatan 1 on March 7,2012.

He was charged under Section 97(1) of the Banking and Financial Institutions Act 1989 (Bafia) on secrecy.
