KUALA LUMPUR: Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar had his gloves off in his latest Tweet, a direct response to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's statement attributing BN’s loss in the 14th General Election (GE) to Pakatan Harapan’s false promises.

KJ wrote: “We lost because of 1MDB. The End”

Until 6pm, the post was shared by more than 2,600 followers and had over 2,000 likes.

Netizens who posted their comments mostly agreed with KJ's statement, with some praising him for his bravery.

Twitter user Prempuchong said Najib is still in denial, while another user by the Twitter handle ShahRblood commended KJ for his courage to speak out.

The statement was purportedly made by Najib at a dialogue session at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) this evening, which was also broadcast live on Facebook.

Najib, who pledged allegiance to Umno and BN during the session, said there was no reason for a new party to be established, as his party had no problem. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
