PETALING JAYA: The PKR central election committee (JPP) has announced that there will not be a re-election at the Julau division elections in Sarawak.

In a statement on Tuesday (Nov 13), JPP chairman Datuk Rashid Din said the decision was made based on a vote counting analysis that proved that all the voting data managed to be saved as the data was uploaded to the "cloud" system.


Rashid said this was despite the e-voting application on six tablets was deleted by the malware Prey Anti-Theft.

Previously, the results from the controversial Julau division was suspended pending investigations into claims of a "cyber attack" on the tablets used for e-voting at the polling station.


"The details of the votes that was recorded and the technical analysis have shown that there was no votes missing, thus, the results of the election can be accepted," he said.

Rashid added that the results of the Julau division would soon be uploaded on PKR's election official results.

Meanwhile, he also said that the Tawau and Pensiangan division re-election results will also be accepted.
