Scuffle at PKR polling in Sabah: Rafizi claimed he was attacked

KENINGAU: PKR deputy presidential candidate Rafizi Ramli claimed that he was assaulted during the Keningau division election process at a hall in Kampung Merampong here, this evening.
During the incident at about 5pm, Rafizi claimed his head was touched before he was escorted out and lodged a police report.
Acting Keningau district police chief Assistant Superintendent Lee Nyuk Kim confirmed receiving a police report from Rafizi.
"I was informed that there was a riot in the division election process at the hall.
"The police are investigating the incident," he said when contacted.
Lee said the investigation papers would be referred to the Sabah Police Contingent headquarters (IPK).
The three-min video shows Rafizi being closely guarded as chaos erupted in the hall.
In the recording, some individuals believed to be Rafizi's supporters tried to enter the hall by wrecking the wire mesh fitted onto the hall’s walls.
But the police managed to control the situation, before Rafizi was taken out of the hall by his supporters.

Meanwhile, Sabah PKR chairman Datuk Christina Liew said it was still waiting for a full report on the incident.
"I have not seen Rafizi yet. I am still waiting for a full report on the incident," she said when contacted.
Meanwhile in Kota Kinabalu, Datuk Seri Mohd Azmin Ali is leading for Parti Keadilan Rakyat deputy president post in 12-division party elections in Sabah.
According to a source, as of 7pm, Azmin leads Rafizi Ramli with 342 majority after securing 5,113 votes as compared to, Rafizi's 4,773 votes.
Azmin won in Libaran, Sandakan, Kalabakan, Sepanggar, Beaufort and Tawau, while Rafizi won divisions at Kota Kinabalu, Batu Sapi, Tuaran, Sipitang and Kota Marudu.
At press time, there has yet any results from Keningau.
Meanwhile, for divisions elections, Sabah deputy Chief Minister who is also state PKR chairman Datuk Christina Liew defended as Kota Kinabalu division chief.
Liew secured 541 votes while her contender have 106 votes.
Incumbent Sepanggar division chief Dr Roland Chia, who is a former Inanam state assemblyman, also retained her post.
Meanwhile, in Batu Sapi, candidate Baby Anne Alsali won the division chief post with 281 votes.
About 74,000 out of 150,000 PKR members are eligible for elections at 12 divisions in Sabah. The rest will follow suit tomorrow for 13- division election.
