KUALA LUMPUR: Khairul Izaini Khairuddin (better known as ‘Boy Tiger’), who was wanted by police for allegedly torturing his 3-year-old stepson to death, has been arrested.

The 31-year-old was detained while conveying his wife, Noraini Samian, 20, to the Kajang Hospital to give birth.

Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat confirmed the arrest, when contacted.

Boy Tiger and Noraini were sought by the authorities after the death of toddler Muhammad Khairil Akmal Abdul Rahman, who was being treated for severe injuries received in a violent beating.

The duo had taken the boy, who was unconscious and covered with bruises, to the Ampang Hospital for treatment last Thursday. He was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.

The two suspects fled the hospital upon Khairil’s death and had been in hiding since.
