Our 2018 Ramadhan Buka Puasa Review of The Top Spots in the Klang Valley to break fast brought us to a spot just out of KL, it brought us Summit Hotel Subang USJ to review their Sinar Ramadan Buka Puasa Buffet
Arriving at the Summit and looking at the spread I wondered if it was gonna be worth the trip, as the spread this year was not enormous, but then as we are always told never judge a book by it's cover.
The Summit Ramadhan Buka Puasa fare is a sample of, when less is more! They had less items but when every single item was super tasty, who cares about having more. They focused on just having quite a variety of Malay dishes At the promotion price of RM68.00 for adults and RM40.00 for Children it was worth it.
WHOLE ROAST LAMB WITH BRIYANI
We started with the whole roast lamb. At first i thought they only had one small portion but the chef kept bringing out the lamb in parts that made me realize that actually had a whole roast lamb. The lamb was really delicious. The Unique dish was the lamb with Baked Cheese Potato!
RENDANG RUSA
Another superb dish was the rendang rusa with Arabic Rice, it was really authentic and tasty. The Arabic rice was full of cashew nuts and raisins and not dry at all.
SOUP GEAR BOX The Soup Gear Box was simply one of the best, one of the reviewers even dug out the bone marrow and enjoyed it.
SATAY
The Beef and Chicken Satay was the crowd favourite too. I could easily have 10 sticks all by myself, if i didnt have to taste the other food.
POPIAH BASAH
The simple looking Popiah Basah was so tasty every bite surprised me.
The Rojak was tasty as well.
The Laksa Kedah was also very good.
The Mee Mamak was also delicious. i skipped the white rice and had this with all the curries
We were quite surprised at the pleasant start we had to our buka puasa.
MALAY DISHES
It was time to try out the Malay dishes and what a tasty journey we had, every single item was so full of flavor and tasty. We stopped asking which taste good and was the hunt which tasted bad.The unassuming buffet at Summit had shocked us by giving us some really good traditional malay dishes.
The Salmon FIsh Head Curry was really good and full of spice.
The Daging Masak Hitam was another dish that got a huge thumbs up.
The Gulai Ayam Kapitan and Udang Sambal were other dishes that got top marks.
The Fish in Tomato Sauce must receive speacial mention at it was really tasty
Other dishes included Bamboo Clam Dried Chillis, Lokam Clams, Squid, The Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables, Batang Keladi Masak Asam Rebus were all really tasty.
They had some prawns, mussels and even some sushi.
DESSERTS
They didnt have a huger variety of desserts other than a few cakes and different type of jelly's but you are sure to enjoy the ABC, Ice Cream and Seasonal Fruits
Diners were entertained throughout the night by Popular Singer of the 90s Hasnol, who got come some of his fellow artist who were there that night to sing some songs. He gave a very good rendition of Hijau
Guest were encouraged to donate to their partner charity Yayasan Bina Insan Malaysia - https://www.ybim.org/
At RM68.00 our recommendation is to simply enjoy the Malay dishes.
