Father stumbles on sex video in smartphone, learns of daughter's rape
PENAMPANG: The discovery of a sex video in a smartphone belonging to a 14-year-old girl led to the revelation that the teen was raped by her 17-year-old boyfriend.
The victim’s father, who checked on his daughter’s phone at their home on Monday at 6pm, made the horrifying find.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the father had asked his daughter about the video but she kept mum about it.
The father had then contacted the man in the video who had confessed he was the person involved in the incident that took place at a car park at Taman Malakun on June 19.
He had then lodged police report at 12.25am yesterday.
“Following the report, police detained the local man who works at a shop.
“Further investigation will be conducted under Section 376 of Penal Code for rape.”
