KUALA LUMPUR: Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim's claim that the Bukit Aman Special Branch had tapped his mobile phone was a misunderstanding, said Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
The Inspector-General of Police said he had an audience with Tunku Ismail on Thursday.
"This morning I met Tunku. I have explained to Tunku and there is no problem. It is a small misunderstanding which is why Tunku made the posting.
"I have met him and clarified the misunderstanding," he told reporters after attending the Rujirawongse Rugby Cup 2016.
Tunku Ismail, who is also the football club owner of Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), claimed his mobile phone was tapped by Bukit Aman's Special Branch.
He said this in a transcript interview with a journalist, which was uploaded on the Southern Tigers Facebook page on Wednesday.
