Attorney-General: No transfer order for MACC's Ahmad Shazalee
PETALING JAYA: The Attorney General's Chamber has denied issuing any transfer order for DPP Ahmad Shazalee Abdul Khairi to be moved out of the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission.
The official AGC twitter account late Monday said "The AGC clarifies that there is no transfer order for DPP Ahmad Shazalee Abdul Khairi out of the MACC."
A news portal had earlier reported that Ahmad Shazalee, the officer currently investigating former 1MDB subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd, was given an abrupt order to return to the AGC although his secondment was meant to be extended until 2017.
Ahmad Shazalee had said he was unaware of the transfer until it was reported in the media.
Ahmad Shazalee, who is with MACC’s special operations division, said he was “shocked” over the sudden move.
“I am also shocked. I am still coming to MACC, no one has told me anything about a transfer order,” Ahmad Shazalee said.
SRC is being probed over a RM4bil loan from Retirement Fund Inc (KWAP) to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and RM42mil which later went to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's bank accounts.
In August, Ahmad Shazalee was the first of six MACC officers arrested by police, who were investigating an alleged leak of documents related to the 1MDB special task force investigation.
He was later released. Police had also raided Ahmad Shazalee’s house in Precinct 11, Putrajaya and the office of MACC’s Special Operations Body in Precinct 3.
Boxes of files and laptops were seized from the agency.
