KUALA LUMPUR: Shuttler Lee Chong Wei pumped his fist in sheer delight.
The former world No. 1 put up a superb performance to beat five-time world champion Lin Dan 17-21, 21-19, 21-19 in an epic one hour and 31 minute men's singles semi-final match at the China Open in Fuzhou Saturday.
It was his 10th win over Lin Dan in 35 meetings.
This was Chong Wei's first-ever win over Lin Dan on Chinese soil since both stars began their on-court rivalry over a decade ago.
Chong Wei will take on Chen Long of China in the final Sunday.
Chen Long showed his brilliance in his 21-11, 21-17 triumph over Son wan-ho of South Korea in another semi-final match that lasted for 52 minutes.
