Another Argument Over Parking Turns Into Bloody Gang Fight In Air Itam, Penang
A small parking dispute involving a car owner complaining about another car blocking his vehicle escalated into a full scale bloody riot when armed men, numbering around 10 got involved in the altercation.
Timur Laut District Police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the victim, a trader had argued with several men after his car blocked another car from entering the pavilion area in Kampung Melayu at 6.30 am on November 15, Bernama reports.
"According to the victim's friend, the victim quarreled with the men in the car for a few minutes before a group of 10 other men came along and attacked him with a machete, sticks, helmets and stones."
The 10 men descended on the unarmed trader, proceeding to beat victim unconscious until police were called to the scene after passers-by alerted the authorities after witnessing the attack taking place.
According to the police, the victim sustained a broken arm with cuts and bruises on the head, neck, hand and body, but currently in stable condition at the Penang Hospital.
The injured man, a 40-year-old Chinese trader had visited the food court area of the flats together with his friend who also sustained light injuries before being set upon by the group of Indian youth after getting involved in the carpark argument, Guang Ming Daily reports.
