PETALING JAYA: A Datuk suffered injuries to his leg after he was shot in a drive-by shooting at Bandar Rahman Putra, Sungai Buloh here.
It is learnt that the 49-year-old Datuk was at his house in Bandar Rahman Putra when two men on a motorcycle attempted to assassinate him at around 10pm Wednesday.
Interviews with his neighbours revealed that they heard about four to five gunshots being fired in the residential area around that time.
It is believed that the perpetrators fled the scene after the Datuk's daughter, who witnessed the incident, started screaming for help.
Sources said two bullets were lodged in the Datuk's leg. There were also two gunshot marks on his car.
He was sent to Hospital Sungai Buloh for treatment.
Sources said that four 9mm bullets were found outside the fence across from the Datuk's house.
It was alleged that the Datuk had received a death threat letter about a month ago.
When contacted, Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Junaidi Bujang confirmed receiving a report on the incident but declined to comment pending investigations.
The case has been classified as attempted murder under Section 307 of the Penal Code.
