GEORGE TOWN: A six-year-old child is reported to be in a coma stage after falling off a Ferris Wheel at the Sungai Nibong Funfair, well past midnight.

Timur Laut deputy police chief Supt Ismail Idris said the child, Mohamad Khairul Naimme Abu Kassim, fell from the wheel at 12.50am.

"We received a report from the victim's father who is also running a business at the Funfair site at 4.15am and immediately ordered operations to stop until investigations are completed," said Ismail when contacted, here today.

He said the child who suffered internal injuries was admitted to the Penang Hospital for treatment.
